Remnant Treasures

February 12, 2008

I always look in the remnant bin but rarely find much, let alone a treasure trove of coordinating fabrics.

I only went in for thread, I swear. No really. Besides, they were half price.

Hello, my name is Peg and I’m addicted to fabric.

The first step is admitting you have a problem. These fabrics are great though…and since they were in the remnant bin you must have gotten a good deal. (I’m an enabler.)

I like the bottom fabric and the blue and brown folded up on the top the best.

yummy! i looove those fabrics–they have a vintage look to them…are any of them?

Not vintage, lilyeden, but they have that look. Usually remnants are in that bin for a reason so I was surprised I found such great stuff.

Wow, looks like you have enough to really get started on something. I love napkins and place mats done in co-ordinating fabrics like those. I go straight to the remnant bin at our chain store as they have great stuff but then as it is usually only half a metre or so I go trawling through the whole store [it is huge] to find more of it or enough quilting fabric to back a large quilt, so always end up spending more money.I am not complaining though as overall I do save heaps. Often I find one metre lengths of cotton poplin etc that makes great lining for skirts etc. Any idea what you are going to do with the pieces of fabric?

What lovelies! How COULD you resist–I wouldn’t have.

I was thinking of throw pillows but the placemats sound like a great idea. After the current quilt is finished, I’ll delve into this pile.
