A Crazy Idea

October 5, 2007 at 1:45 pm 1 comment

I’ve been thinking crazy thoughts lately. Ok, I usually think crazy thoughts, but this one in particular has a hold of me. We’ll be moving next year to a property that has a large yard. And I’m thinking about …..

Alpacas.

Aren’t they adorable? I’ve been doing a bit of research and just spoke to the owner of a local alpaca farm. They’re social, clean, family-friendly and no more expensive to feed than a dog. You have to have at least two because they like company. Their fleece is warmer, stronger and lighter than wool. I’m going to have to explore the other fiber arts and learn to knit or spin or something. I’m really hoping this might just be crazy enough to work out.

Oooh! Alpaca! I live in the city, so this is not feasible for me, but I like to support my local shepherdesses. Sounds like fun! Good luck to you in your endeavors.
