Confessions of an Online Fabric Shopper

I started another quilting project and found everything I needed in my stash. Ok, not everything. I only had a fat quarter of one of the perfect fabrics. I needed another half yard. I knew it wasn’t a current design but I had some information on the selvedge edge to get me started. After two days of looking online, I found it! I got to thinking that it would be unfortunate if the half yard I calculated was a bit short. (I’m still not good at quilt math.) So I put one yard in the box, clicked “add to cart” and then paused. It doesn’t make any sense at all to pay as much for shipping as the fabric you are purchasing. Am I right?

So I checked the clearance fabrics. Hmmn. A few goodies in there. Oh, and I need some more sewing machine needles. Add to Cart.

Now I’m rapidly approaching the magic number where shipping is free. Another stroke of financial genius hits me. Why pay for shipping when I can have a yard of fabric instead? It’s just not economically sound. So my half yard of fabric cost me $38 and I feel pretty good about it.

Hello my name is Peg and I’m a fabric addict.

Hi Peg, I am also a fabric addict. I buy online too, it’s so easy, just a couple of clicks of the mouse….until the credit card bill comes in!!! You have a lovely blog.
