This quilt top is done with a variation on my last quilt. I decided against the assymetrical strips surrounding the block for some straight sashing. It’s my first venture into solids and I like it. This picture really doesn’t do justice to the colors. They’re much richer in real life. Maybe when I finish the quilting, I can get a better picture outdoors.

I just joined a quilt along that can win me a new Janome (swoon). These are the fabrics I’ve chosen. They’re not set in stone but I like them so far. I like the idea of mixing Kaffe Fassett, Heather Ross, Tina Givens, Amy Schimler with some Australian and everyday fabrics. It’s quite a grab bag. What do you think?
